You can have the chocolate or the colouring pencils. Choose one.

A rash of my friends are having children. I grew up in recession, largely, was novel in school as my dad had a job. Will another generation of recession babies down the road reach too far and pull it all down for their children? I'm pretty sure we've lost in the last month more spare money than my parents ever had.

I am waiting to find out if/how the EU will fund my work for the next four years. I hope it works out. I badly want to be doing something interesting again.

My fingers are regaining long lost sewing calluses and I am reducing the amount of times I accidentally stab myself with pins. My eyesight has gotten worse since I did this properly last, or the light quality isn't good. It is hard to get the small enough stitches right first time. I don't think the full quilt will be ready for the summer, but it will keep me occupied for the bad weather days in winter, which is the point.

I've gone off beer for some reason. Dunno why. Just don't fancy it - in fact even looking at it makes me shudder. This is odd and presumably not permanent.

Port and whisky still seem appealing.

The past shows us that music and popular culture is generally more exciting in times of economic hardship, so I suppose we can look forward to that.
