Conair GS4 Compact Fabric Steamer - Conair

Our price: $27.99

Other steamers are soooooo much better

I've used a lot of good steamers--this is not one of them.
1) Takes forever to heat up
2) Spits water
3) No place to put nozzle (get one with a vertical pole)
4) Hose too short
5) Calcifies after 1 use and no easy way to clean it.
I'm returning mine and getting a better one. You get what you pay for.

Works for the price

I wasn't expecting a pro piece of equipment when I ordered this, but rather, only something that would make ironing an easier task for me (hate it, can't-won't do it). Once you get the hang of it, this thing actually works well, however I wouldn't say steaming is faster or better than ironing, it's just different. Obviously, you can't do folds or crimps on trousers, but it does a great job on dresses/skirts/tops (specially ones with flowy, soft fabrics). In fact, one of the best uses I found for it is deodorizing long-stored "humid stinky" clothes: 5-10 min steaming on a formal gown washed 6 months ago was enough to wear it confidently to a last minute fancy event. By the way, all the "dangerous performance", steam burns, etc. commented on some reviews CAN be avoided handling the device with common sense and being faily careful the first times you use it. =)

Just Plain Awesome !!

Purchased at Walmart. I purchased this Conair Fabric Steamer months before I opened it to give it a fair try only to regret not opening it sooner. It is just amazing. Now I can only hope it keeps working for a while before I go from impressed to disappointed. Garments iron with just a stroke or two of the arm depending on the kind of fabric. The heat/steam is intense so be careful not to burn yourself as I did a few times till I got the hang of it. It might be too soon to say but for now I'm Loving it and keeping my fingers crossed.

Great Value for the Money !!!!

I love this product. It works great and is so affordable. I don't think it takes too long to heat up at all and the hose losens up after the first two uses. It is so portable that I would consider taking this on a road trip if need be. I no longer iron the old fashion way. This is so much quicker than ironing. The only thing is I wish it did work longer than 20 minutes. That is the only con I have with the product. But if you are just getting an outfit ready for work this is all you need. If you are doing more at a shot, then you will need to refill it.

Not bad for 25 bucks

Conair GS4 Compact Fabric Steamer

Previously owned another Conair steamer that was 3x's the price of this model. Loved it and owned it for over 6 years. When we needed to replace it, did not want to spend another $70. Read reviews on the GS4 and was worried about the reports of it spitting water out. Loved our prior steamer and since it was also a Conair, figured we would give it a try.

First use.....great! No problems at all.

Second use.....water was spitting all over the place. Moved the unit from the top of a dresser to the floor so that the hose was stretched out and attached to the over the door hanger (provided with the steamer) and wella.....perfect.....fixed the problem.

So.......this is a great steamer for the price and the water will not spit out if you keep the hose upright when in use.
