I will go running tonight. I did not run yesterday because I went somewhere after work. I ran the other day and was humiliated, I couldn't finish my planned run. I hadn't run for a few days and was going to do intervals, but I pushed myself too hard early on and decided, you know what, I'm walking home. It was hot, that might have done it. It was humiliating. It wasn't even that long. But sometimes you just have to know when to give up. Crap, it's raining outside. It doesn't make that much of a difference because I'm soaked through by the time I'm done anyway, but I don't get my feet wet. I might give up and do something else. I guess I have a medicine ball.
For lunch I had a sandwich, it had some Spanish sausage and some Spanish cheese with fennel and fig chutney. Tonight I will have a sandwich with mozzarella and a German cured ham that's like prosciutto crudo, I've forgotten the name. And some broccoli. I might hold off and use that ham to make some mozzarella ball thingies when I have company over later in the week. Because my birthday is on Monday. The mozzarella I have is not quite suitable for that, I really want that damp mozzarella, this is low-moisture. Actually... I'm getting some ideas for stuff to have for this thing. I don't know how many people will be by yet, so I don't know whether to have a light dinner or just cocktail party snacks. Either way, if you have any savory hors d'oeuvres you would recommend that would go well with mozzarella balls wrapped in prosciutto, have at it.
I had a talk about what I want to be when I grow up. I got some good ideas for turning this job into a good stepping stone. We explicitly discussed that I'm bound for better things and that if I'm still here in a few years - unless the position changes greatly - then I've done something wrong and I'm a failure.
I think I'll have people over on Sunday evening. In the afternoon, I'll be at a wedding, but I never got invited to the reception, so I won't go and instead will have a light birthday party at my place. With gourmet cuisine. And NO BALLERINAS.
Does my grocery store have muscovado sugar?
I want to knit a Doctor Who scarf. Or at least own one. Owning one is probably easier.
It's getting dark out. It's 3pm. I probably won't run tonight. It's raining pretty hard.
